Your State Parks Day

Each September the Friends groups statewide hold Your State Parks Day.  It is an opportunity to get a large group of people working statewide on projects in the Park system.  Past projects include garden building, gate beautification and trail entrance /walkway reconstruction.

We would love to see you attend our next event!

Horse Trails

Weekday Volunteers Always Welcome

Your State Parks Day

The 11-mile Central Loop Equestrian Trail has been reviewed by GA DNR and approved.

The trailer parking area is engineered, we are working with DNR on this critical improvement.

Anyone with grant writing skills would be welcome as we raise funds to make horse trails a reality.

Scout Projects Procedures

The mandatory first step for all Scouting projects is to contact John Sims, Scoutmaster, Troop 57 (Newnan) and Coweta District Member at jcsims@peoplepc.com for additional information and directions.  Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts are encouraged to consider projects in the Park for Service Projects, Conservation Projects, and Eagle Scout Projects, etc. There are many opportunities including small and large bridges, numerous benches and tables, and spur trails, just to name a few. All projects will be considered so request one of the projects above or we encourage you to design your own project and submit it for review.
