Chattahoochee Bend State Park occupies 2,900 acres of varied natural land in western Coweta County, with five miles of frontage along the Chattahoochee River. Georgia's second-newest passive recreation facility was developed with support from Coweta County with $7 million in bonds approved by the state in 2006. Phase 1 construction began in autumn of 2009 and was completed in early summer of 2011. Opening on July 1, 2011, it is Georgia's seventh largest state park.
Enjoy the views from an observation tower, canoe, kayak, and fish. Accommodations range from camping in a traditional tent, RV site, riverside platform camping, "Adirondack" three-sided shelters, or in one of the cabins.
